Patient Information Leaflet

The benefits of telephone triage appointments provide;;

·         No waiting list

·         Improved continuity of care

·         Improved patient access

·         Consultation with a clinician of choice*

·         Improved use of time for clinicians’ and patients

·         Reduction in the number of patients who do not attend

Clinicians will return triage telephone calls to patients at a pre-agreed time in order to establish whether their problem is one which can be dealt with over the telephone without the need for them to attend the surgery. Where it is determined there is a need for the patient to be seen the patient will be offered an appointment.

We have a doctor on call every day to see patients in an emergency.

For more information regarding telephone triage consultations please access the information leaflet below;

Telephone Triage Leaflet

 * Where possible patients will be able to request a telephone triage call from their choice of clinician. The only exception to this would be if that clinician is on-call on the day of your choice.

Evening & Weekend Appointments

Evening and weekend appointments are now available via 'GP Extra' service.  Please refer to the 'Evening & Weekend Appointments' tab for further information.

Chaperone Policy

It is our policy to offer a chaperone if patients and/or clinical staff require one to be present during intimate examinations.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to offer the appointment to someone else.  We also offer a text message facility to confirm appointment bookings and also to remind patients of their appointments.  Please liaise with Reception Staff to ensure we hold your up to date mobile telephone contact details to benefit from this service.
